According to the latest statistic data by the Ministry of Education and Training, there are currently around 60,000 Vietnamese students studying overseas in various forms: scholarship for third and fourth year students and postgraduate students; short term oversea study under the cooperation training programs between local universities and international ones; full self-financing, which the students have to pay fully for tuition fees and other expenses.

  The questions of where to go for oversea study and what major to select are the topic being paid attention by many students and their parents?.The countries with largest numbers of Vietnamese students attending oversea study programs are Australia, then the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, etc. while in Asia, students usually select Singapore, China, Malaysia, and Japan, etc. According to oversea study consulting centers, the USA remains as the most considered country thanks to the prestige of academic degrees awarded from this country.

   In the USA, most of the Vietnamese students select economics (business administration and finance) and information technology. These two majors account from 60-80% of the total majors selected by Vietnamese students. If you would like to study in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, you should have the overall credit of high school, college or university from average upward.

A certain level of English proficiency is required and study or working process record should be continuous. Study in Germany? It is required that you have passed and completed at least one academic term at one university recognized by this country (all public and several private universities)..

  Expense for tertiary education includes tuition fee, curricula expense, personal and other miscellaneous expenses. These expenses are usually much higher in European and American countries than in Asian countries

   In order to complete a course of science and technology in Australia, an amount of approximately USD 15,000 – 17,000 will be required for different expenses per year. In the USA, expense for one year of bachelor degree in science is nearly USD 30,000 USD/year while it is around USD 23,000 – 27,000 USD/year in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Oversea study expenses in Asian countries are usually lower: in Singapore, it is around USD15,000 USD/year; in Malaysia and China, it is USD 5,000 – 7,000 per year, etc.
